New Head of Property appointed by Northern to oversee its 500 stations

Northern has appointed Jayne Breen as its new Head of Property who will be responsible for managing the company’s property and operational teams across the 500 stations that comprise its estate.

Jayne Breen hails from and was appointed Head of Property after being at Carlisle Support Services. Jayne is a familiar face on ‘s network as she was previously Northern’s Head of Engineering Services.

Prior to that, Jayne was Northern’s Train Presentation Delivery Manager for its services in the North-West, where she managed the teams of colleagues who work to make sure Northern’s fleet of trains are clean for customers.

Northern is one of the North of England largest employers, with some 7,000 employees working out of depots across the region including drivers, conductors, engineers, customer service, and support staff. It is also the UK’s second-largest train operator, running 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.

Lisa Leighton, people director at Northern, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jayne back to the business – she’s had such a successful track record of leadership delivering multi-functional support services within a variety of sectors throughout her career.”

Jayne Breen takes up her new role on 26 September and added: “I am so pleased to be back and can’t wait to get started on delivering a station estate that works well for our customers and that we can be proud of.”
