In line with other train operators, because of industrial action by members of the union, which represents train drivers, (EMR) will not be able to operate any train services next Saturday, 30 September and the following Wednesday, 4 October.

ASLEF has also imposed an overtime ban for next Friday, 29 September and from Monday, 2 October to Friday, 6 October. This could result in a number of late-notice train cancellations that may not be known until 22:00 the day of travel. During the period of industrial action, anyone intending to travel is strongly advised to regularly check if their train is running before setting off.

Will Rogers, Managing Director at East Midlands Railway, said: “As a result of being taken by members of the ASLEF union we are not able to run any trains on Saturday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 4 and therefore customers should not attempt to travel.

“On Friday, September 29 and from Monday, October 2 to Friday, October 6, services could be cancelled as late as 22:00 the day before – this is because of an overtime ban strike by ASLEF members.

“Due to this, we strongly advise customers to check if their train is running before setting off.

“It is recommended that customers also check the departure time of their last train before embarking on their journey and familiarise themselves with the overall impact of the strike on their entire route.
