A car has crashed onto the railway tracks in Scotland, and means that buses are replacing trains
Network Rail Scotland shared the above photo on Twitter, saying that they have been working with police overnight to make a plan to move the car, as it is in an awkward position for recovery vehicles to access.
Inverness to Aberdeen trains will terminate / start at Huntly. Replacement buses are running between Inverness, Huntly and Aberdeen.
Ticket acceptance is in place with Stagecoach Buses on routes 10, 10B, 31, 35 and 37.
Trains between Inverness and Elgin are not affected by this incident.
Disruption is expected until 12 noon
A ScotRail spokesperson said “We’re unable to run trains between Huntly & Inverurie for now due to a car on the railway line. Buses are replacing our Aberdeen – Inverness services in both directions. We’re still able to run local Inverurie-Montrose trains as normal.”

Forgive my memory, but a few years ago, a lorry (the driver was severely punished) landed on a track after a crash and were not Network Rail told to ensure that at other problem areas, traffic was to not land on rail tracks or trains. Strong crash-proofed barriers were to be installed according to the recommendations of the Coroner ?
Good morning is the morning jacobite still running Wednesday and Thursday ?
As far as we are aware, at the moment, yes
