Track workers will carry out maintenance in the area around the Cotswolds village of Kemble next week, affecting Great Western Railway services between Swindon and Gloucester.
From Monday 21 until Thursday 24 August:
- No trains will run directly between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa.
- Passengers can travel between Swindon and Gloucester/Cheltenham Spa via Bristol Parkway.
- Trains will not stop at Kemble, Stroud or Stonehouse stations.
- Buses will replace trains to and from all stations affected.
Up-to-date information is available on the GWR website.
Ben Scott, GWR’s Station Manager for South Cotswolds, said: “This work is part of an ongoing programme that will enable us to maintain services for customers travelling to or from Gloucestershire.
“We’ll provide alternative road transport and work with other train companies to ensure customers can still complete their journeys during this time.”
Jonathan Skirton, Network Rail Infrastructure Manager, said: “Our teams need to maintain vegetation and drainage near to the railway to keep the tracks safe.
“We’re sorry for the disruption to trains but this work will ensure journeys are more reliable for years to come.”
