Rail operators advise of ‘major disruption’ due to droken down train in Gloucestershire

Train operators are advising passengers of major disruption this afternoon after a train broke down near .

The broken down train is causing disruption to between Bristol Temple Meads and Manchester Piccadilly, between Gloucester and Nottingham and between Plymouth and York / Newcastle / Edinburgh.

CrossCountry says that passengers may use West Midlands Railway services via any reasonable route. Rail replacement buses are running between Worcestershire Parkway and Cheltenham Spa.

trains are disrupted between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa, as well as between Salisbury / Bristol Temple Meads and Worcester Foregate Street.

GWR says that trains may be delayed through Cheltenham Spa due to congestion in the area.

Trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes, with disruption expected until the end of the day.
