Wednesday the 1st and Friday the 3rd of February will see East Midlands Railway impacted heavily by industrial action taken by members of unions ASLEF and RMT which means that no trains will be able to operate for both days.

The industrial action taking place affects train drivers and due to this, the rail operator cannot run any services whilst the strikes are underway. Other rail operators will also be impacted by the industrial action throughout the country.

Customers already holding Advance, Off-Peak or Anytime tickets for the 1st and the 3rd of February will be able to either travel the day prior to the strike action or up to and including Tuesday the 7th of February.

For customers who opt not to travel on the days around the strike action, full refunds will be available from where they purchased the tickets, no admin fee will be applied.

The days around the strike action will see no impact on East Midlands Railway services with all trains operating as usual.

Customers are being advised to visit the East Midland Railway website for further detail or at stations or via social media in order to get the most up-to-date information.

Will Rogers, Managing Director at East Midlands Railway, said: “As a result of strike action being taken by members of the ASLEF union and the RMT union, we are not able to run any services on Wednesday, 1 February, and Friday, 3 February.

“Customers with an Advance, Off-peak or Anytime ticket who are affected by the strike can use their ticket either on the day before the date on the ticket or up to and including, Tuesday, 7 February. Customers can also travel on an alternate date or get a refund. More details are on our website.”
