Eurostar staff members who work in security for the Mitie contract have seen an improved pay offer of 10.3% with an uplift of 28.89% for those on the lowest pay and have seen planned industrial action set to take place on the 22nd of December cancelled.
As part of the package, RMT has secured guaranteed hours on permanent shift patterns with staff members who work flexibly to be provided with an array of options to suit their personal needs.
Eurostar has also confirmed that it will look into the discretionary sick pay policy clause which will guarantee employees are reviewed ahead of any decision being made on whether it is payable.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch congratulated members for their commitment to pursuing the pay increase and the improved conditions and also went on to say:
“These workers have fought hard for an improvement in the offer and succeeded.”
