Remember, remember the 5th of November! This Saturday will see Bonfire Night celebrations underway and customers using trains to travel home are being reminded that many services will be ending before 7pm.

The reason that train services will be ending much earlier than usual is due to strike action taking place on Saturday the 5th, Monday the 7th and Wednesday the 9th of November which will also see a good number of routes closed and an extremely limited service on lines which are able to open.

Customers who need to travel by train are being warned to plan their journeys ahead making sure to check times for both outgoing and return travel.

Whilst Southeastern is working hard to get the normal timetable back in action for customers, there will be some further to services on Sunday the 6th, Tuesday the 8th and Thursday the 10th of November as trains cannot operate until 7am.

Underground and Overground will see further strike action taking place on Thursday the 10th of November and will impact onward travel.

Scott Brightwell, Southeastern Operations and Safety Director said: “If these strikes go ahead there’ll be unavoidable disruption. We’re only able to run a limited service on 5, 7 and 9 November. We strongly advise any customers that do need to travel to check their first and last train times, especially on Bonfire Night this Saturday.

“We recognise the inconvenience this causes and offer our sincere apologies. We’ll continue to work as hard as we can to get normal services resumed as quickly as we can.”

Southeastern aims to keep its customers up to date regarding service timetables with further information available here: southeasternrailway.co.uk/industrial-action. The rail operator’s website also offers information on how customers can get a refund if they have already purchased a ticket.
