Services on the London‘s Piccadilly Line have been suspended and the A40 in west London closed after a fatal collision.
The police were called to the collision at 03.48hrs on the morning of Monday the 22nd of August on the A40 westbound close to Park Royal Underground Station.
Both police officers and ambulance teams attended and it has been reported that a Range Rover and a Tesla had collided, with the Range Rover leaving the road, and ending up on the railway line.
Despite the emergency service’s attempts, a female occupant of the Range Rover sadly died at the scene.
A female, who was thought to have been in the stationary Tesla, was treated for what was assessed as non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.
A male and female occupant of the Range Rover were also treated at the scene of the accident by paramedics and were taken to the hospital, no further updates about their condition have been made available at the time of writing.
Both the Piccadilly Line and the A40 have seen cordons put in place and it is likely that they will be closed for a substantial period of time. Commuters are being advised to avoid travel on these routes.
Anybody who witnessed the accident and is yet to speak to the police is asked to call 101, ref905/22aug.
Transport for London has reported:Â “No service on the Piccadilly Line between Acton Town and Uxbridge while we help the police respond to an incident at Park Royal. Tickets are being accepted on London Buses. GOOD SERVICE on the rest of the line.”
