The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has confirmed that it has sent investigators to Doncaster after two freight trains collided.
The incident is believed to involve two freight trains in the Doncaster area, but the RAIB has not confirmed whether any injuries were sustained.
This incident looks to have taken place away from the mainline and does not seem to be impacting on normal passenger services.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has sent RailAdvent the following statement
A spokesperson for the Rail Accident Investigation Branch said: “A collision between two freight trains which occurred this morning in the Doncaster area has been notified to the RAIB and a team of inspectors have been sent to site. Our inspectors will gather evidence as part of the process of conducting a preliminary examination and a decision on whether an investigation will be launched will be taken in the coming days.”
