This weekend, the public will have a chance to see a steam locomotive on display in London.
Terrier steam locomotive ‘Poplar’ will be on display at the Docklands Light Railway‘s Poplar Depot, near Canary Wharf.
Members of the public can come and find out about the history of the locomotives, which hauled commuter trains in London, and 10 of these locomotives survive into preservation.
Visits to the depot are in 30 minute time-slots and are limited to 20 people.
Tickets cost £5 with proceeds going towards preserving the locomotives.
Poplar returned to steam in 2022 after an overhaul at the Kent and East Sussex Railway.
You can book tickets on the Kent and East Sussex Railway website.
