The 4253 Locomotive Company Ltd has published their latest update on the restoration of their Great Western Railway 4200 Class No.4253 and 5600 Class No.5668

Valves and Cylinders
Recently the team have removed the valve chest covers ready for refitting the valvea. Once oiled up, the valves were suspended in the air then slowly slid into the cylinder block. Once in, the covers received their brass fittings, then bolted back onto the cylinder block.
Running Plate and Boiler
Painting has begun on sections of the running plate that were removed last week. On the boiler the mounting plates on the backhead for fitting have started to be made.

Water Tank
Riveting of the bottom angle to the front rear panel has continued, with many more rivets to fit!
