This Saturday, 28th May, Greater Anglia is putting on 65 extra trains to Northumberland Park station for fans going to the nearby Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Rugby League Challenge Cup final.
The final, between Huddersfield Giants and Wigan Warriors, kicks off at 3.00pm.
All trains between Stratford and Meridian Water/Bishops Stortford that normally stop at Northumberland Park will do so, while additional trains between Liverpool Street and Hertford East, Cambridge North, and Stansted Airport will also stop between 12 pm and 3 pm and 4.30 pm to 8.00 pm. The trains will remain at the platform for longer than normal to allow everyone to get on and off.
If fans travel in ten or 12-carriage trains to Northumberland Park, those trains are longer than platforms at the station, so they should not travel in the rear three carriages of those trains.
London Underground’s Victoria Line trains to and from Tottenham Hale are expected to be very busy before and after the game. To help reduce any crowding, fans using the Victoria line are encouraged to walk to the stadium, which is around 25 minutes’ walking time from the stadium.
After the game, special queuing arrangements will be put in place at both Tottenham Hale and Northumberland Park stations to ensure that everyone can board trains safely. Extra Greater Anglia staff will be on hand to provide assistance and advice to anyone travelling.
Customers should check train times and book through the Greater Anglia website, whilst groups of three or more can save up to a third on Off-Peak travel with GroupSave.
Mike Barry, Greater Anglia’s head of customer service for the West Anglia region, said: “We are running as many trains as possible with extra stops to get everyone where they need to go and enjoy a good game of rugby.
“Our trains are likely to be very busy both before and after the match, so we’d advise you to leave plenty of time for your journey.
“Plenty of our staff will be on hand at stations, but please be patient as we need to put in a special queuing system to ensure everyone can get on our trains safely after the game.”

GA might as well run 10-Car trains between Stratford-Meridian Water including rush hour. To relieve the pressure of rush hour morning and evening chaos.
