Whatever the weather, fun can still be had next week at half-term with the help of train operator Southeastern.

Families can save on train tickets for days out in , and thanks to their ‘Kids for a Quid’ offer.

Children (aged 5-15) can travel for just £1 when travelling with a fare paying adult, and under 5s go free.

To help you decide what to do, Southeastern has created a list of places to head to for family friendly days out, including some that are wet weather friendly!

Granary Square, London
Why not investigate the area around St Pancras International, there is plenty to do. Visit the well known Platform 9 ¾ from Harry Potter, get close with nature at Camley Street Natural Park, have a rest and take in the view along Regents Canal Towpath. Take part in the interactive Digital Playground at Samsung KX and get creative at The Story Garden.

Canterbury
Have a wander down the winding streets whilst admiring the Cathedral and eating fudge from The Fudge Kitchen. You could pay a visit to Beany House of Art + Knowledge or the historic Canterbury Roman Museum.

Margate
Enjoy fish and chips on the beach, solve the clues at Escapement, go to Turner Contemporary gallery or visit the Shell grotto with underground passages.

Greenwich, London
As the area is full of maritime history, a visit here is not complete without a trip to the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and the historic Greenwich market, where there are plenty of stalls waiting for you.

Broadstairs
Follow the town trail and enjoy an ice-cream at Morellis or relax on a beach – there are seven to choose from. Families can pick up Coastal Explorer pack which are full of trails and activities.

Tunbridge Wells
There are many pretty open spaces to be enjoyed in this historic spa town. But if the weather takes a turn for the worse, then head inside to Hollywood Bowl or Chimera, an indoor kids climbing centre.

Dover
Why not head to Dover Castle and enjoy their half term activities, or South Foreland lighthouse or one of the many museums including the Dover Travel Museum.

Deal
Deal Castle set along the beautiful coastline, is well worth a visit, or enjoy a little art with Joanne Harmer Gallery & The Secret Garden Studio. Or walk to the end of the pier and take in the lovely view.
