The Epping Ongar Railway has confirmed that BR Class 20 locomotive, No. 20227 Sherlock Holmes, will be visiting them in October.
20227 is currently in London Transport livery and will be in action at the Epping Ongar Railway’s London Transport Weekend, set to be held from the 8th to the 10th October 2021.
This announcement completes the trio of London Transport locomotives visiting for the weekend, as 20227 joins previously announced GWR Pannier L.92 and GWR Prairie L.150.
20227 visits the Epping Ongar Railway thanks to The Class 20 Locomotive Society, who also owns 20001, which is resident at the EOR.
The locomotive is the last to be built Class 20 and worked extensively on the London Underground network, even carrying a 221B shedplate.

Really hope some of these locos can be converted to battery operation, perhaps utilising old electric car batteries…
