Greater Anglia has revealed its new Flexible Parking Season ticket with discounts of up to 12.5% for passengers who park regularly two or three days a week
The Flexible Parking Season ticket initiative will provide eight car parking sessions which need to be used within a period of 28 days following the purchase.
The Flexible Parking Season ticket complements Greater Anglia‘s new Flexi Season ticket which was launched earlier this summer.
The eight parking sessions can be used on any day with no need to designate them beforehand.
The Flexible Parking Season ticket can be purchased at 23 station car parks, which are Audley End, Billericay, Bishops Stortford, Broxbourne, Cambridge, Cambridge North, Chelmsford, Cheshunt, Colchester, Diss, Ely, Harlow Town, Hatfield Peverel, Ingatestone, Ipswich, Kelvedon, Manningtree, Marks Tey, Rayleigh, Shenfield, Wickford, Witham and Whittlesford Parkway.
Prices may be different from station to station and passengers can benefit from a saving of up to 12.5% on their parking fees when compared to daily peak time rates.
As per the Flexi Season ticket, if a passenger needs more than the eight parking sessions over the 28 day period they can simply buy another season ticket which would once again be valid from the time of purchase for another 28 days.
Greater Anglia has carried out car park improvements at Bury St Edmunds, Manningtree, Broxbourne, Saxmundham and Attleborough stations since 2020 and has continued the rollout of Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) by installing the technology at Chelmsford, Cambridge North and Ely station car park.
The flexible parking season ticket is available to buy from the Greater Anglia parking website www.gaparking.co.uk
Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia director of asset management said: “The flexible parking season ticket is an ideal match for our new Flexi Season ticket.
“As we all know, the pandemic has changed working patterns, with commuters expected to continue working from home for part of the working week – making this flexible parking season ticket ideal.
“During the pandemic we have continued to make improvements to station car parks across the network including creating extra spaces, cleaning them and installing ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) at further car parks.”
