Network Rail and Train Operating Companies who run services across the Anglia region are advising rail users to plan ahead as repair and upgrade work will affect some services.
Details of dates and lines affected can be found below:
- Saturday 28th to Monday 30th of August 2021 – c2c trains operating between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness will be affected by track replacement work at Pitsea
- Saturday 28th to Monday 30th of August 2021– c2c trains operating between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness will be affected by Barking riverside project
- Sunday 29th to Monday 30th of August 2021 – Trains operating between Bury St Edmunds and Ely will be affected by the new Soham Station project
Network Rail has worked with affected TOCs to ensure minimal impact to passengers, with much of the work planned to take place will be carried out at night.

Network Rail’s route director for Anglia, Ellie Burrows said: “We know that tourism is in high demand this summer and we have planned our work to minimise disruption. The vast majority of our passengers will be able to enjoy travelling by train over the bank holiday period.
“Passengers who are travelling out of the Anglia region should check how their journey might be affected.”

Network Rail should still continue on replacing overhead wires at Prittlewell and Southend Victoria and to replace the old footbridge at Prittlewell.
