Porterbrook has announced that Mark Wyborn has been selected for the role of Head of Freight Commercial.
As one of the UK’s largest rolling stock owner and asset manager companies, Porterbrook works with many Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and Freight Operating Companies (FOCs) to help provide the ideal fleet for their demand.
Therefore, it’s key they support each company and new firms joining the industry. The Head of Freight Commercial helps build strong relationships with freight operators, along with Network Rail.
Following successfully passing each stage of recruitment, Mark Wyborn, in his new role, will build on previous strengths and work with many businesses across the UK.
Mark has gained valuable experience from former roles within the rail industry, with his last role based at GB Railfreight, and prior to that, he has worked for both Network Rail and Southern Railway. It is planned for Mark to take up his new appointment at the End of Spring 2021.
Porterbrook’s designate Chief Investment Officer Stefan Rose said: “I welcome Mark to my new team. His appointment confirms Porterbrook’s renewed and long-term commitment to railfreight, one of the great success stories of privatisation.
“We are looking to invest £1bn in Britain’s railway over the coming years. Mark will be looking to partner with freight operators so that they can share in Porterbrook’s ambitious growth plans.”
Porterbrook’s designated Head of Freight Commercial Mark Wyborn said: “I am very pleased to be joining market leader Porterbrook at this very exciting time for both railfreight and our industry.
“Porterbrook will support the ambitious growth plans of Freight Operating Companies by financing new and improved assets, tailored to market needs. These will allow our railfreight customers to play a greater part in the Green Recovery.”
