LMS Black 5 No. 45337 has arrived at the East Lancashire Railway in Bury, Greater Manchester.
The steam locomotive has moved to the East Lancashire Railway from the Llangollen Railway.
We reported back in December 2020 that the move was due to take place, with the 26B Railway Co continuing the overhaul to bring 45337 back to passenger service.
The company has also revealed that once the locomotive is back in action, the livery that the locomotive will carry is its LMS Black livery, which is the locomotives original livery and will carry its LMS number, 5337.
Back at the Llangollen Railway, preliminary work had already taken place on the locomotive, with the tender receiving work and the boiler being lifted from the locomotive frames.
You can support the overhaul of 45337 and the 26B Railway Co, by using the Easy Fundraising scheme, which is available in 4000+ retailers.

About time it came back
My Grandfather, George Dawes, actually worked at the Agecroft shed, 26B, in the 1940s/1950s…
I actually saw the Black 5 locomotive in Woodham’s scrapyard, Barry. in 1972. Didn’t get a photo of it at the time, but l did of many others that have since ended up on preservation lines.
It should never have left in the first place i was completely against it
