Melinda Sallaway, scheme project manager for Network Rail, said: “We worked closely with our colleagues at Merseyrail to minimise disruption to passengers as much as possible while carrying out the refurbishments at Bromborough station”

“This much-needed Great North Rail Project work means the station will be a brighter and more pleasant space for passengers for years to come.”

Jane English, people director at Merseyrail, said: “We are pleased to have worked closely with our partners Network Rail to improve the facilities at Bromborough station for our passengers as part of the Great North Rail Project.

“Thank you to our passengers for your patience during these works to improve the station environment for a better overall experience.”

Cllr Liam Robinson, portfolio holder for transport & air quality at the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, said: “This is a great example of how we are improving the customer experience, giving people more reasons to leave the car at home. It’s been a really tough year for all of us but we are determined to press ahead with essential projects such as this one right across the city region as we focus on our recovery journey.

“Transport is an essential driver of economic growth and continuing to invest in our railway is just one of the ways we can build back better”.
