The Bluebell Railway, at Sheffield Park, in Sussex, has launched a new virtual tour of the heritage railway.
The 360 tour of Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park is now available.
New tier restrictions mean that some passengers are unable to visit the railway, so the first two tours couldn’t have come at a better time.
“It’s been a difficult year for many people, and not everyone has been able to visit the Bluebell Railway as planned. We wanted to create something that would bring the railway to the visitor’s home in an interactive way.” Commented Ruth Rowatt, Marketing and Communications Manager – The Bluebell Railway.
“We wanted to keep connected to our members, visitors and volunteers and thank them for their continued support. We wouldn’t have reached our 60th birthday in August 2020 without them.”
Viewers can start in the air at Sheffield Park before swooping down into SteamWorks to explore the collection of steam locomotives.
Fly off to Horsted Keynes to explore the waiting rooms and a sneak peek of the signal box.
360 Virtual tours is a project funded by the Cultural Recovery Fund for Heritage.
Additionally, the Bluebell Railway are working to increase the number of tours available by including a tour of the museum, booking office, carriage interiors, and a tour of the carriage and wagon workshop.
If you would like to take part in the virtual tour, please visit the Bluebell Railway website.
