Peter Best has posted into the Friends of 130 Facebook group a short update on the restoration of Garratt 130.
The restoration of the steam locomotive is taking place at Dinas Locomotive Works on the Welsh Highland Railway.
As the restoration approaches the final stages, the cab fittings are being assembled, and the copper pipework is in the advanced stages.
The driver’s brake valve, duplex valve as well as one of the “dragon” catches is complete with the other one in the advanced stages.
It is expected that the hydraulic test will take place week commencing 29th November 2020.
This is excellent news, and we are looking forward to seeing 130 heading through the Aberglaslyn Pass very soon.
