The 2874 Trust has announced that they have launched a brand new website, bringing a modern look that allows visitors to find out more about the trust.

was formed to restore and operate Ex-GWR heavy freight steam locomotive No. 2874, which was built to the Churchward design in 1918 and remained in service until 1963.

Alongside the project, the trust is looking to provide opportunities to bring in more experienced volunteers to make sure the expertise is secured to maintain the locomotive for years to come.

One of the main objectives of the trust is to engage with local colleges, and recently, the trust has had a great relationship with SGC at their Berkeley Vale site. This working relationship has resulted in a brand new website being launched.

Rich Williams, Assistant Headteacher at SGS Berkeley Green UTC, said ‘We were delighted to be able to use our expertise to support the 2874 Trust with the design and launch of their new website. As a 14-19 college specialising in Engineering and Digital Technologies, the project sat perfectly between our two specialisms. An important aspect for us was to ensure that the website worked well for mobile devices to encourage a range of visitors and prospective members and we think we’ve have achieved this. The website provides a fresh update to an important project, and we hope that it enables the Trust to continue in their work. Moving forward, the next phase of
UTC-Trust relationship, post-Coronavirus, is to explore further engineering and digital opportunities for our students, that could potentially lead to additional features on the website.”

In the first four weeks, the website has had 10,000+ views and shows a modern group and shows the excellent work done by SGC.
