The has thanked everyone for the number of shares regarding their signalling equipment theft which enabled them to reach a wider audience.

The heritage railway has thanked Police, who, after the CVR’s post, reached out to the railway in a positive manner, with the Churnet Valley Railway saying they are “most grateful” and hope that they “will be in a better place to report incidents in the future”.

The Churnet Valley Railway has also thanked everyone for their offers of assistance in recovering from the theft.

The Churnet Valley Railway told RailAdvent “Whilst we still remain doubtful of anyone being apprehended for this – we are grateful for the coverage this incident is still receiving, and it certainly puts us in a better position of hopefully discovering someone with a piece of information that will ultimately be able to locate the culprit(s).”

The lost equipment includes a large quantity of interlocking equipment. This is used to prevent multiple routes being set by the signalling system and protects trains from meeting on the same stretch of track.

The North Staffordshire Railway Company (1978) Ltd has set up an appeal to install a perimeter fence and an upgraded CCTV system. The NSRC is aiming to raise £8,000 in the appeal.
