The Leighton Buzzard Railway has announced that its first weekend back in action after its COVID closure was a sellout success, with more than 400 passengers visiting over two days across the twelve departures.
Whilst this is less than a record number seen on a regular weekend, due to the reduced capacity in operation, this is the maximum number that could be carried safely.
Visitors were able to enjoy most of the features of the award-winning railway, with the exception being the internal areas of Stonehenge Works.
The Engine Shed Show at Page’s Park is open on Saturdays and Wednesdays only.
Trains are now running every Sunday until the 1st November as well as Saturdays on the 10th and 31st October and Tuesday and Wednesday 27th and 28th October. Visitors are recommended to book online to avoid disappointment.
The coming weekend is planned to see resident Doll hauling the 1030, 1230 and 1430 departures, with the return of 778 to service after an enforced absence of nearly a year on the 1130, 1330 and 1530 trains.
