Great Western Railway has introduced extra train services for Devon and Cornwall to help people return to train travel safely.
However, the rail operator is reminding passengers that it is still mandatory to wear a face covering.
As more passengers return to train travel, GWR are working to welcome its passengers back on its train services.
The work includes increased cleaning regimes; extra staff at stations to offer help, and measures in place to maintain a safe distance.
GWR Interim Managing Director Matthew Golton said: “As the lockdown eases and government advice on travel changes, we are seeing more people coming back to the railway.
“Staff across GWR have been working hard and we continue to take sensible steps to look after ourselves and each other, and to start welcoming people more widely back on to the railway.
“An awful lot of hard work has been done to make sure people feel that they can travel safely, and that includes running more trains and carriages to make extra room.
“From Saturday we will re-introduce even more services into our timetable as more people return to the train. Please do be considerate of others and wear a face covering unless you are exempt, be mindful of others; plan ahead; avoid busy times where possible; and do take advantage of the extra hand-washing facilities we have had installed.”
Announced enhancements will mean three extra train services from London Paddington on Saturday. Two will run to Plymouth, and a third will run to Paignton.
Also, there will be four more trips on local trains between Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance.
Throughout the week, the train operator will be extending four London services to Penzance to restore a direct London service to Cornwall. Six round trips from London Paddington will run with two running to Exeter, one to Plymouth and three will run to Paignton.
There will now also be an additional three round trips between Exeter/Plymouth and Penzance in order to provide the extra capacity needed to support safer travel through the summer.

Maybe because GWR wants to get back to normal with the passengers using their trains and by doing so by adding additional trains because of the summer holidays coming up and seaside resorts in Devon and Cornwall is the best place to go. Despite the Coronavirus pandemic still having a knock on effect.
Perhaps GWR could replace the Class 143 Pacers used on the branch lines in Devon and Cornwall with extra Class 153s and Class 156s Sprinters from Transport for Wales (with some cascaded from Greater Anglia previously) and/or East Midlands Railway. To boost more capacity on the local lines in Devon and Cornwall. And in the Bristol area.
