UPDATE: Disruption to continue until the end of service
No trains are running between New Cross and London Charing Cross as a result of urgent repairs needing to take place.
As a result of these repairs needed to take place, trains are expected to be cancelled or diverted.
Trains are not expected to run to and from London Charing Cross until approximately 10:00.
Once the repairs have been completed, trains are still likely to be disrupted until 11:00.
Thameslink are also affected by this issue, with information on their delays being available here.
Overnight, Network Rail staff found a track defect on the line used by trains to Charing Cross at New Cross.
Staff are now working to replace the damaged track, but this is not expected to be completed until 10 am.
Trains are unable to call at London Waterloo East and London Charing Cross this morning. Trains instead will be diverted to London Victoria or London Cannon Street.
- Ramsgate and Dover to London Charing Cross services will be diverted to run to London Victoria instead.
- Hastings to London Charing Cross services will only run between Hastings and Tonbridge.
- Tunbridge Wells to London Charing Cross stopping services will not run.
Services on metro routes to London Charing Cross are likely to be cancelled, diverted to Cannon Street or may terminate early.
If your train is diverted, you can use London Underground between Victoria, Embankment, Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Waterloo, Southwark, London Bridge, Canning Town and Elephant & Castle.
Passengers can also Thameslink (though they are also having disruption this morning) services between Blackfriars, Sevenoaks and Orpington at no extra cost, and Docklands Light Railway between Woolwich, Greenwich, Canning Town, Bank and Lewisham.
You can also use London Buses between Dartford and London Bridge.
