Network Rail has announced that work on a Grade 2 Railway Bridge is underway this week. The work is for repairs and strengthening to the bridge.

The work on Stoneclough Road bridge next to Kearsley station is part of the Great North Rail Project. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation between the 28th October and when the project is completed in early December. Overnight closures of the road will be required on Saturday 26th of October and Saturday the 2nd of November.

Some of the work could be noisy and local residents have been advised of the bridge works. Rail passengers will not be affected by the upgrade work.
