The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has released information into a serious incident which happened in August 2019 at the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway
At 10:35 on 28 August 2019, a Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway train service from Dungeness to Hythe left Romney Sands station and entered the single line section to New Romney.
A train from Hythe to Dungeness was in the same section, travelling in the opposite direction towards Dungeness.
The two trains came to a stand about 316 metres apart, and didn’t come into contact which each other, and luckily there were no injuries.
The RAIB have already undertaken a preliminary examination into the incident.
The RAIB has decided that they will be publishing a safety digest, which will be published soon.
