The Amberley Museum Rail Gala is coming up, and details have now released.
At Amberley, their collection of industrial railway locomotives and stock is one of the most important in the country.
Amberley has a wide variety of locomotives, with examples of steam, petrol, diesel and electric power, along with over 40 wagons and coaches.
The current collection has 13 different gauges from .46m to 1.6m.
Visits to the museum can ride on quarrymens’ coaches and other stock, drawn by industrial locomotives, on  (2ft) gauge track. Our Railway Exhibition hall houses the locomotives and stock that are too frail to be mobile.
On 13th and 14th July, the museum will be celebrating industrial rail transport with many of the trains running on our 2ft gauge track, as well as a model railway exhibition.
This year, that venerable lady Wendy, a 1919 Bagnall locomotive on loan from the Hampshire Narrow Gauge Railway Society, and still in good working order, celebrates her centenary.
