Class 40 locomotive heading to the Crewe Diesel Depot Open Day

Crewe Community Rail Events has announced that a Class 40 locomotive has joined the line up for the visiting trains at the upcoming Crewe Open Day 2019.

The Class 40 is thanks to the Class 40 Preservation Society and the Severn Valley Railway. The 40 attending is 40106.

Crewe Open Day will be held on Saturday 8th June 2019 and is now a sell out event.

The Class 40 joins steam locomotives 70000 “Britannia”, 46100 “Royal Scot”, 34046 “Braunton” and 45231 “The Sherwood Forester” at the event.

  1. Started spotting at the North End in 1951., Went to the town to visit my dad’s mother and father, That was the last time I ever saw them, My dad couldn’t get me off the station. Be like coming home, There really was nowhere like it , especially if you included a trip round The Works. This has been on many an old spotters’ ”bucket list”……bring it on.
