The Welsh Highland Railway has announced that they will be offering footplate rides at their Caernarfon terminus.
This Saturday, 11th May 2019, the narrow gauge line will be using two of their smaller locomotives to ferry the public in the station limits.
Steam locos ‘Chaloner’ and ‘Hugh Napier’ will be in use and be offering footplate rides to visitors.
Chaloner was built just across the road from the station, at the De Winton Works in St. Helen’s Road.
Hugh Napier used to work in the Penrhyn Slate Quarries, but is now owned by the National Trust and operated by the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway.
The locomotives will be in Caernarfon Station from 09:30 till 15:00, donations are welcome towards to upkeep of the railway.
