Steam locomotive 48151 and 35018 British India Line will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Yorkshire on Saturday 6th April 2019.
The 8F and Merchant Navy locomotives are hauling an excursion from Carnforth to the Wensleydale.
The railtour departs Carnforth at 07:52 behind the two locomotives.
The railtour will then pass through Clapham (08:27), Long Preston (08:46), Hellifield Goods Loop (08:48), Gargrave (09:19), Skipton (09:24), Keighley (09:42), Saltaire (09:50), Shipley (09:52), Woodlesford (10:33), York Holgate Sidings (12:26 – here, 48151 is attached to the rear of the train, with 35018 leading the formation), York (13:03), Thirsk (13:33), Northallerton (13:42) before arriving on to the Wensleydale Railway at 14:45.
The return trip will see 35018 and 48151, still in top and tail formation, will depart the Wensleydale Railway at 16:20 before passing through Northallerton (17:30), Thirsk (17:41), York (18:14), Church Fenton (18:31), Gascoigne Wood Loop (18:41 – here the train returns to two locomotives at the front of the train), Woodlesford (19:46), Shipley (20:27), Keighley (20:43), Skipton (20:56), Settle Junction (21:48), Bentham (22:11) and finally Carnforth at 22:38.
