Wednesday 28th February 2019 saw Deltic D9009 Alycidon on a test run with Class 31 31128 Charybdis & a Belgium Crossrail Benelux Class 66 Locomotive getting dragged back to Hull to be taken home back to Belgium by Class 57 Locomotive 57312 Northern Princess seen at Chesterfield Station, Derbyshire.
The first run was Deltic Preservation Society’s Class 55 Deltic D9009 Alycidon on a test run hauling Nemesis Rail’s Class 31 31128 Charybdis from Burton Ot Wetmore Sidings to Sheffield and return. This was a test run for Alycidon after receiving some work at Burton On Trent, Staffordshire.
The outward run passed through Chesterfield 3 mins late at 16:06 & the return run passed through Chesterfield 6 minutes early at 17:46.
Inbetween these runs was the run from Longport FD (Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire) to Hull KGV Dock B Quay Sidings saw Class 66 is PB13 (66998) which hauls freight trains in Belgium for Crossrail Benelux and had been brought over to England for work to be done on it at Longport in Stoke On Trent.
She has now had her maintenance complete and has also had a repaint from a red livery to a blue livery. She was dragged from Longport (Stoke On Trent) to Hull to be taken back to Belgium to resume hauling freight services.Â
The 66 arrived in the UK in November 2018 and left in February 2019 just like sister loco 66999 which came over in August 2018 for maintenance and left in November 2018.
