Steam locomotive set to bid farwell to Nigel Dobbing this Sunday

Steam locomotive 35018 British India Line will be bidding farewell to Railway Touring Company’s Nigel Dobbing this Sunday.

Nigel, ex-Managing Director of the railtour company, sadly passed away in October 2018.

The train will stop at Melton Mowbray, and with thanks to the permission of Network Rail and East Midlands Trains, a special memorial plaque will be placed in the waiting room of the station.

35018 will be hauling the train from Kings Lynn to Melton Mowbray, and then from Melton Mowbray back to Kings Lynn.

Departing Kings Lynn at 09:54, the train will pass through Watlington (10:06), Downham Market (10:14), March (11:05), Peterborough (11:29), Grantham (12:07), Nottingham (13:03), Loughborough (13:24) and Melton Mowbray at 13:48.

The return trip will see the train depart Melton Mowbray at 15:16 and then pass through Oakham (15:31), Peterborough (16:01), Ely (17:11), Downham Market (18:06) and Kings Lynn at 18:45.
