Steam locomotive 60103 Flying Scotsman has been busy on the mainline in the past week – hauling a tour and being moved down south.
On Saturday 22nd December 2018, Flying Scotsman hauled The Flying Scotsman Christmas Dalesman from Manchester to Carlisle and return.
On Saturday 29th December 2018, a Class 66 moved the famous locomotive down to Toton from Carnforth Steamtown for the locomotive to have new tyres fitted.
Whilst we were away for these tours, we have been incredibly lucky to be sent in this video showing the locomotive at two points on these moves.
Additionally, John Stirzaker used our website to find the timings for these movements, otherwise, he would have missed out – this is incredibly humbling to hear.
60103 Flying Scotsman is seen passing Horwich Parkway with The Flying Scotsman Christmas Dalesman and is seen with 66063 passing Golborne Junction heading for Toton for new tyres.
Many thanks to John for sending in this footage, it’s great to see!
