Drones have closed Gatwick Airport for a number of hours today (20th December 2018) and has lead to a number of cancellations on airlines.
This has caused travel chaos for passengers getting to family and friends for Christmas.
But fear not, a few operators have pulled together to help you get home for Christmas.
LNER have opened up free travel for passengers travelling from Gatwick to Edinburgh, just show your ticket.
Govia Thameslink Railway is offering passengers affected by the closure of Gatwick airport rail travel at no extra cost to help them complete their journey or make alternative travel arrangements.
Passengers with a rail ticket to or from Gatwick will be able to travel to or from Luton airport at no extra cost.
People who need to get to King’s Cross to travel to Edinburgh on LNER and who have an airline ticket can travel for free to King’s Cross/St Pancras, Stevenage or Peterborough on GTR services.

What did the officials say?
Steve White, chief operating officer of GTR, said:
“Passengers are facing serious disruption due to the closure of the airport and we want to help them complete their journeys or make alternative Christmas travel arrangements.”
Suzanne Donnelly, Commercial Director, said:

In addition to getting to their destination, passengers can enjoy all the benefits of travelling with LNER, including great food from the onboard Foodbar, exceptional views along the east coast main line, and the opportunity to use the time productively, catching up on emails, making important phone calls, or catching up soaps or on watching movies.”
