Timings confirmed for steam locomotive 70000 Britannia loaded test run

The timings for steam locomotive 70000 Britannia’s first mainline loaded run since overhaul work have been confirmed.

70000 Britannia has been running in after repair work at the Severn Valley Railway, but now it is time for its loaded mainline test run after Fridays Light Engine run from Kidderminster to Crewe.

Britannia will be on a loaded test run from Crewe H.S. to Shrewsbury on Tuesday 23rd October 2018.

Departing Crewe H.S. at 09:30, the Britannia locomotive will head via Crewe (10:01) and Beeston Castle (10:23) to get to Chester (10:35).

From Chester, the train will head via Wrexham General (10:57), Ruabon (11:02), Chirk (11:07) and Gobowen (11:11) before arriving into Shrewsbury at 11:41/

Britannia will then head to Coton Hill T.C. for servicing.

For the return to Crewe, 70000 will depart Coton Hill T.C. at 13:12 before heading via Shrewsbury (13:17), Wellington (13:36), Telford Central (13:43), Cosford (13:51), Bilbrook (13:58), Stafford (14:23) and Madeley (14:40) before arriving into Crewe H.S. at 14:53.
