The Telford Steam Railway has said thank you and goodbye to the Grant Ritchie 272, which has been visiting the line.
This locomotive has been on hire to Telford from the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston, Lancashire.
It was put into use in place of resident locomotive, Rocket, which was in need of some work.
272 has become popular amongst visitors and staff at the Telford Steam Railway, which is brilliant to see.
The locomotives first steaming in preservation was in September 2016 at the Ribble Steam Railway and was brought in as a hire locomotive at Easter 2018 as a stand in for Rocket, who had failed its annual boiler inspection.
After the team had a closer look at Rocket, it became clear that a lot more work was needed to be completed before it could steam again. Work began to replace a number of stays and repairs to the foundation ring.
The work has also included being stripped at the TSR headquarters and being transported to the Tyseley Locomotive Works for further work to be completed.
The Telford Steam Railway hope to have Rocket back in action for Easter 2019.
