Greater Anglia has announced that passengers that use Broxbourne station will be better protected from the weather, as a new waiting room is to be installed.
Work has commended to enclose the waiting room with a glass wall which will keep rain and wind out and will provide a warm waiting room.
The waiting room will be redecorated and also feature push-button automatic doors to improve accessibility, energy efficient heating, and new seating.
Passengers will also have the opportunity to charge their electronic devices, such as phones and laptops, thanks to the installation of plug sockets.
The work is due to be completed later in the autumn.
What did the officials say?
Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia‘s Asset Management Director, said:
“The new waiting room will offer passengers an improved, more comfortable waiting environment.
“Investing in upgrades to stations across the network is extremely important to Greater Anglia, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent facilities and service to our customers.”
