Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has announced that it is inviting season ticket holders on Great Northern and Thameslink to claim additional compensation for the May timetable disruption.

The Train Operating Company (TOC) has already contacted 63,000 passengers about the compensation.

Season ticket holders can now click here to see if they qualify to make a claim.

Passengers who qualify will need have had a season ticket for the most affected stations between 20th May 2018 and 28th July 2018. They will receive money back based on the equivalent cost of one to four weeks’ rail travel.

The scheme will be opened in the later phase to regular travellers such as part-time workers who do not have a season ticket.

Passengers who don’t have a season ticket are being urged to keep any tickets as proof of travel to support their application.

What did the officials say?

Chief Executive Officer Patrick Verwer said:

“We are sorry for the disruption caused by the May timetable change and would urge affected season ticket holders who haven’t already heard from us to claim through our compensation website.

“We have turned a corner in terms of performance and services are now more punctual.”
