Where and when to see steam locomotive No.45690 Leander in York and Carlisle tomorrow

Steam locomotive 45690 Leander will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in York and Carlisle on Saturday 11th August 2018.

The Jubilee locomotive is on a special railtour tomorrow. 45690 is hauling The Waverley on Saturday.

The railtour departs York behind 45690 Leander at 08:56

The railtour will then leave York, bound for Carlisle, where it will steam through Church Fenton (09:12), Castleford (09:37) before a stop at Woodlesford (09:54). From here, the train will steam through Shipley (10:42), Keighley (10:58) before another stop at Skipton (11:14).

From here, 45690 Leander will head for Hellifield Goods Loop for a water stop. After which, the locomotive will steam up the Settle and Carlisle line and through Ribblehead (12:20) and Garsdale (12:38) before stopping at Appleby at 13:05.

From Appleby, departing at 13:20, the locomotive will steam through Lazonby Kirkoswald (13:38) before arriving into Carlisle at 14:21.

After around 2 hours in Carlisle, Leander will depart Carlisle at 16:24 bound for York. It will pass through Lazonby & Kirkoswald (16:56) and will stop for water at Appleby (17:17).

Continuing down the Settle and Carlisle line, Galatea will pass over the Ribblehead Viaduct at approx 18:24, continuing to Settle, the train comes off the Settle and Carlisle line at Settle Junction (18:41) where it heads for Hellifield, for a water stop, at 18:48.

From here, 45699 Galatea will make stops at Skipton (19:53), Keighley (20:08) and Shipley (20:21) before arriving into Leeds at 20:44.

From Leeds, the train will make the short hop to York via Cross Gates (21:08), Micklefield (21:16) and Church Fenton (21:21)

The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of York at 21:38.
