Hollycombe has announced there is a record level of entries for their upcoming model event.
Currently, there are 37 miniature traction engines booked, this ranges from 2in to 6″ half size traction engine.
A working display areas is planned with a 3″ Marshall hauling a baler and a 4.5″ Burrell traction engine driving a rack saw bench, cutting timber. The popular Grand Parade and line up of the miniature steamers is planned each afternoon.
Eight model railway layouts will be attending, from N, G, OO and 16mm Live Steam, with support coming from the Solent & West Sussex Group of The G Scale Society, the Astolat Model Railway group from Guildford and Ian Redman’s Small ‘N’ Working N Gauge Model railway layouts.
Visiting engines will be running on the museum’s 7¼in. gauge Garden Railway.

Hollycombe Trustee Brian Gooding said:
‘The Hollycombe Model Weekend gives an opportunity for a great day out. A number of the exhibits are under cover and can be enjoyed whatever the weather. With the schools about to go back we hope everyone will enjoy the ‘last hurrah’ of the summer holidays.’
