The Wensleydale Railway have announced that a West Coast Railways steam locomotive could be visiting the line to operate services.
The heritage railway had previously announced that no steam locomotive would be available to operate services over the Leyburn 1940s weekend. When WCRC heard of the news, they offered to see what they could do.
The steam locomotive, which is yet to be announced, should be arriving at the Wensleydale Railway on Friday 20th July 2018 and will operate train services on the 21st and 22nd July.
Exact timings and the exact locomotive will be announced in due course, but it is a big opportunity for the Wensleydale Railway!
The Leyburn 1940s Weekend will see the railway operate their Evacuee Train, tickets for which are still available, on Saturday morning and a Blitz Bar which will see fantastic Gins and Rums available. More information on this is available here.
