The P2 Steam Locomotive Company have announced that the wheelsets have been completed by South Devon Railway (Engineering) for steam locomotive No.2007 Prince of Wales.
After a long journey on the back of a truck, the wheelsets have now arrived at Darlington Locomotive Works.
The arrival now means the wheels can be attached to the frame and for the locomotive to become a rolling chassis for the very first time.
This is a major step forward in the construction of this P2 locomotive. It marks another milestone in the completion, with the hopes still set on a 2021 completion date.
