The Clan Project has announced that the smokebox and cab of steam locomotive 72010 Hengist has arrived at CTL Seal in Sheffield.
72010 is a new build project, which is now nearly complete and will see use on the mainline once complete.
CTL Seal in Sheffield was contracted to start the assembly of the locomotive’s frames in November 2017.
The arrival of the cab and smokebox completes the moving of all of the components needed for assembly.
CTL Seal in Sheffield is now the location for the final assembly of the locomotive.
We look forward to seeing this locomotive in steam, more information of which will become available soon!

Hengist most certainly isn’t ‘nearly complete’! Frame assembly is a big milestone but most of the journey still lies ahead…
