It will be the first time in the railways gala history that a Warship class of diesel locomotive has visited the North Norfolk Railway.
A full gala line up will be announced soon.
About D832 Onslaught
D832 was built in 1961 at the Swindon Works. ‘Onslaught’ is one of only two remaining Class 42 ‘Warships’ and is based at East Lancashire Railway. The first class members appeared in 1958 and was allocated to the Western Region. Withdrawal of the class came early, as British Rail wanted all engines with hydraulic transmission to be withdrawn.
