The Class 504 Preservation Society is asking for more volunteers to help continue the restoration of their Class 504 on the East Lancashire Railway.
Do you remember riding these multiple units? Or have you become interested in the project over on social media? Why not contact the society to get involved!
No previous experience is needed, all they ask is to have a passion to help a very enthusiastic group to achieve their goal… getting this Class 504 unit back to running order.
This weekend, they have seen just 3 members able to help out – to help the group complete their work, they would love a few more members helping out to get the work done quicker.
Their next working party is on the Sunday 6th May at 10 am. The location is to be announced in due course (we will add it to this article when available).
All you need to attend is, as per the safety brief, railway safety boots and overalls. Other Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be supplied by the society.
Also needed is a full East Lancashire Railway membership.
For more information, and to register your interest, either contact the society on their Facebook Page or email the Project Manager.
