Greater Anglia has announced that passengers are set to experience an improved platform at Battlesbridge railway station thanks to refurbishment work by the train operating company.
The platform is being resurfaced to create safer conditions underfoot for passengers and to help improve drainage.
New tarmac will be laid as well as replacement copers installed. Copers are the slabs found at the platform edge.
Tactiles will also be installed. These are the contoured slabs next to the copers which warn passengers of the edge of the platform – both visually and by the texture of the slabs.
What did the officials say?
Greater Anglia‘s Customer Service Director, Andrew Goodrum, said, “This upgrade will result in a safer, smarter and more pleasant station environment for our customers. Greater Anglia is committed to upgrades at stations across the network to make our customers’ lives a little easier.”
