The Perrygrove Railway has set up a crowdfunding page in order to help raise funds to build a new diesel locomotive to operate on their line.

Background to the Project

Currently, the Perrygrove Railway has one diesel locomotive called “Jubilee”.

This leads to Jubilee bring over-used, with the engine also being underpowered for the duties it carries out.

A new diesel engine would also allow the line to run more days.

The Railway have located a donor engine for sale, a Hunslet Jenbach.

Funds raised via the Crowdfunder page would be used to buy this donor engine, where it would then move to the line’s workshop and rebuilding would start.
